My Kid Designers!

Hi Everyone,

I have been very busy this morning setting up my girls to create and colour their first copic card for the Craft Your Passion Kids Crafts Challenge Blog.  The challenge is 'Spring creations' and the sponsor is Paper Shelter.  I gave the girls my laptop to choose a digi image from Paper shelter and then printed them out for them to colour.  I then had them choose a paper pad that had colours in it that they were going to use on their image.  They love using the cuttle bug so I had them choose  a die to mount their image on.  They both wanted ribbon and jewels so I had them pick them out as well.  Lastly I gave them some sentiment options and they chose one to suit their image.  I then gave them the copic colour chart and had them pick the colours that would best suit their papers.  Nowhere in this process did I pick or lead them.  The choices are all theirs!!  My hands did not cut, stamp, create or colour these cards, all the credit is theirs and theirs alone!  Without further ado, here they are:

This is Abigail's creation.  She added stickles to the ribbon in her hair and the flowers.  Isn't it wonderful!!
I had to split the post so I could enter both cards with different URL's so please follow down to Hailey's creation.

Part Two - KD!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for following the post down here to  Hailey's creation!

She added liquid glass to the eyes and nose or as she likes to call it,     ' shiny stuff '.  How adorable is this!!

The girls really worked hard on them and spent three hours at the table enjoying every minute! The only one more proud of it than me is them.  Please if you stop by for a visit to my blog today,  leave a comment for them so they can get some  blog love for their efforts today!  All of us would really appreciate it!!

Thanks for stopping in!

Lunch with Friends!

Hi Everybody,

I finally had a good nights sleep, I went to bed at 7:30 pm and slept right through until 7:15 this morning.  I feel rejuvenated!  I had a wonderful lunch with friends to celebrate my friend Mary's 89th birthday. We took a little shopping trip to Michaels  before I had to pick up my girls.  Todd is up at the cottage putting in the docks so the girls and I went bowling with our friends after dinner.  We are watching 'Air Buddies' together to end a perfect day!  Except for the white fluffy stuff that has come back for a visit!

Thanks so much for stopping in!

Lilies!

Hello to all my friends,

It's that time again to join me over at Outlawz for some Twisted Thursday Challenge fun. This week in Anything Goes and I'm sure this is the one that everybody has a something they can play with. I made a sympathy card that is on it's way to my dear friend Wendy as I type this post to cheer her up a little.

I used a six by six pack by My Mind's Eye called 'Happier'.  The stamps and dies are both by Heartfelt Creations. I wet embossed the inside of the lilies and added the the stigma embellishment and pinched them closed at the end.  I used some SB dies for the top three squares ad the sentiment is by Close to my Heart.  Tied together with a polka dotted pink ribbon and three little jewels.

To my friend Wendy, I'm thinking about you honey, it's on it's way to cheer you up!

Come and join me in this week's challenge over at the Outlawz! Thanks for stopping in!

It's your Special day!

Hello friends,

Another beautiful day out there to keep us guessing on whether the spring is here to stay!  I was going through some of my unfinished projects from last year's convention and found a card that I just love designed for us by Heartfelt Creations for one of our classes, so I decided to post it for you today!

I am so looking forward to the convention this year in May because I signed up for more classes with Heartfelt Creations.  I may try and recreate this card with softer colours to see the difference.  I love how their stamps have exclusive Spellbinder dies to match!!  That's all for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Class Trip!

Hello Everyone,

I had the pleasure to be the one of the volunteers on Abigail's class trip today to Grand River Raceway's Pizza Perfect program.  What a wonderful program!  They have many volunteers that each do their part to educate kids on all of the farming and preserving of the land it takes to create all the things that go into us enjoying a pizza.  From the amount of earth available to use for farming, to the all the things that the animal's provide for us.  I will admit I was amazed at how much I didn't know before today!  This would be a great program for adults as well.  Everyone got to enjoy a pizza lunch afterwards, except for Abigail and I because of the gluten and dairy allergy.  I made sure to bring something of course but nothing smells better than fresh pizza!  If your ever in the area and get a chance to check it out, you won't be disappointed!!

The trip was the whole school day, and then I made dinner and took the girls to see 'The Lorax' in 3D and they loved it!  Dr. Suess is always entertaining!!  That's all for my today, no time to craft but I hope to have something for everyone tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!

Tribute to Billybob!

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share a wonderful story about how love knows no boundaries!  My good friend Wendy is married to man named Dougie.  Twenty- five years ago a beautiful baby blue jay had fallen out of the nest and was deserted by the mother so Dougie's family took it apon themselves to hand feed and nurse it back to full strength. Now that it relied on human's for food it was unable to survive in the wild.  Dougie than decided that he would keep him as his own pet and named him Billbob.  When Dougie married my friend Wendy she was blessed with having this incredible pet.  Both of them cherished Billybob for years and he was very much part of the everyday routines.  I can tell you first hand how awe-inspiring it is to hold this beautiful bird and be able to pet him!!  Billybob passed away on Friday at the ripe old age of twenty-five.

In the wild, the life expectancy of a Blue jay is seven years. It just goes to to show you the difference that love can make in one's life! Here is a card Wendy had made me a while back with a picture of Billybob.

May he sing his song in the heaven's above, and bring the Lord the same happiness he brought Wendy and Dougie for twenty-five years!  Love knows no boundaries!!  Good-bye Billybob, you'll never be forgotten!

Recharged!

Hello friends,

I love having time to meet with friends to catch up and have some tea!!  My good friend Charlene just had knee replacement surgery and I stopped by to  visit with her; lucky for me her sister Wendy, another great friend of mine was there, so I got to catch up with her as well!  It was just what I needed after doing eleven loads of laundry the day before, getting the girls spring clothes out and ready.  It's amazing how having that time with friends recharges you in so many ways.

I'm ready to start the week with new found energy thanks to great friends!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Tulips for you!

Hi Everyone,

Today I have a card for you that I made as a Guest Designer for the new challenge over at Raise the Bar called,  'In the Garden'.  I have entered this card in Paper Sundae's Challenge - Spring Blossoms.

This little cutie is by Magnolia and she was stamped on neenah cardstock with memento ink and coloured with copics.  The design papers are by First Edition called 'Love Letters'.  The fence is made with a MS border punch and I added some little green rhinestones for dimension. The sentiment was wet embossed and made into a sign post with a toothpick.   I used stickles on her apron, and on her hair tie.  Her shoes were made shiny with liquid glass and I added 3 pink rhinestones to the DP in the bottom square, in the center of the flowers.  The frame around her is a Marianne die and lastly,  I tied it all together with two bows.  Isn't she sooo cute!

I know that's not the way I look when I'm in my garden, if you can get me in it first!  I hope she's given you some inspiration to either join the challenge over at Raise the Bar or get your own gardens started!  Thanks for stopping by!

Cut from the same Cloth!

Hi friends,

I had the greatest time meeting a fellow Design Team member Cindy from the Outlawz .  She lives just 25 minutes from me and it was truly amazing how well we connected right from the moment we met!  I find it wonderful to be able to meet exciting people on line that share the same passion for scrapbooking as I do, but to actually get to meet them is over the top! The very same things that excite me are the same as hers!  She love to organize her supplies and even uses labels. It was as if I found my long lost twin.  This isn't the first time this has happened to me, it seems to be all of you out there have been cut from the same cloth!  It's so comforting to know I'm not alone in my addiction, oops I mean passion!!  I look forward to meeting many more of you out there, so if your in the area, be sure to look me up!!

Be sure to join me tomorrow for the card I made for this week's Raise the Bar challenge as Guest Designer. Thanks for stopping by!

Harvest!

Hi Friends,

It's that time again for our Twisted Thursday Challenge - Spring Colours.  Join me in making a card with  spring colours. The design team has put together some wonderful inspiration to get your creative juices flowing.  Here is my card for the challenge.

I had fun trying to come up with a card without using my copics.  I have to admit that I'm a copic girl at heart so it was quite challenging for me reinvent the process of how I begin to create a card.  I had this paper in my scraps and loved all the sunflowers but didn't have very much of it so I used some solid clours and stamped on it to make my own designer paper.  I love these sentiments from Close to my Heart called Treasure Life.  The flower pot is a SB die and I added some Flower Soft to resemble soil and decorated the pot with some rhinestones. The flower is a layered embellishment by Melissa Frances.  I put some cinnamon stickles in the center for dimension.  This if my first time using my Marianne die to frame the sentiment that was wet embossed in cinnamon and placed on with some pop dots. Lastly, I used some green ribbon and brads to finish it off!

I hope your stop by the Outlawz and join us this week for an exciting Spring Colour Challenge!  Thanks for stopping in!

What a day!

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe the weather we are having in March, today it climbed to 29 degrees.  I won't complain unless it starts to snow in August, then I'll have something to say about it!!  I got the kids off to school, sent Puddles to the groomers and got to spend some time in my craft room getting my card ready for the Twisted Thursday challenge.  I picked up the girls from school and took them to the groomers, oops, I mean hairdresser and then visited with a dear friend who is in town for the week for tea.  We made it home to have dinner with Dad and I tidied up just in time to make it to bible study.  I love the study we are doing right now, it's called 'Guardrails' by Andy Stanley.  It's all about establishing a guardrails in all areas of of lives in a place way before crossing it would be destructive to our lives!  It's a video series and it is fantastic!!

Beautiful weather, time in my craft room, my dog and children can see again, time for tea and meeting together with friends to study God's word, what a great day!!  Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to join me tomorrow for a little inspiration for our new Twisted Thursday Challenge.

Never More than a Thought Away!

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited about my win over at Digital Delights by Louby Lou  and getting to be their guest designer this week that I worked hard on my newest creation with one of their adorable digi images Angel Donita. I tried something new, a surprise pop up card.

I'm not sure how to take a picture of it yet!  This is what I came up with.  You pull on the tag and the little angel goes from lying flat to sitting up and the verse is displayed inside!  This is also a regular card for you to open and write in.  The angel has stickles on her wings and the trim of her dress and I added liquid glass to her eyes and bows to make then shiny!  I made some flowers to match and used an EK Success border punch on the lattice and some green ribbon to finish her off!

A new technique for me, and a lot of fun!  Let me know whatcha think!  Thanks for stopping by!

Better late than Never!

Hi friends,

It was a very busy and fun day for me today!  I had to run some errands this morning so I could get in my craft room this afternoon.  Got home and did my run, started the laundry and made chili for dinner so I could create cards until supper!  I ended up creating right until this very moment that I am sending this post.  Fun as it was,  I'm beat and heading to bed!  I can't wait for you to see what I created tomorrow!!

Off to bed, see you tomorrow with my newest creation! Thanks for popping in!

You are always in my Heart!

Hi friends,

What a gorgeous day out there today!!  I wanted to try something new with my copics today and learned a lot of lessons that I will share with after I show you my card.

I wanted to emboss my stamp on neenah cardstock in black and then emboss the sentiment in red and when I took the gun to heat the image it started to dry out the stamp I already embossed.  Some of the letters in the center didn't get a lot of embossing powder so I thought I could use my copic to fix it and it bled outside the lines.  I coloured the stripes on the frame and the colour started to bleed under the embossing.  Yikes! Lots of lessons today, but it still turned out alright.  The problem is I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I may have to try and fix it at some point!  I'm sure none of you out there are 'cut from the same cloth' as me so to speak! lol

I hope you can learn from some of my mistakes and if anyone out there has insight on how to make it work, please leave a comment for me! Thanks for stopping by!

Singing my Heart out!

Hi everyone,

I drove home from the cottage today and sang my heart out, so to speak!  Nobody in the car with me and the 80's playing on the radio so I performed like a rock star!!  I can't sing to pleasantly entertain people but I love to pretend I can when I'm alone.  The four hours flew by and now I'm home safe and sound and ready for my week.

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather we are having, I know I am that's for sure!!  The rest of the week looks just as good.  That's all for me today!  I hope to have a new card for you tomorrow, thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of You!

Hi friends,

I woke up this morning to more wonderful news to share, I won over at the Raise the Bar for my Lucky You card. I can't think of a better way to wake up happy!  I'm usually not a morning person but you wouldn't know that this morning!!

Yesterday was the start of a new challenge over @ Outlawz in The Twisted Thursday Challenge Group.  The theme for the week is 'Things with Wings'. Here is my card for a little inspiration.

I have to say this card ended up being one mistake that led to another that took this card into all different directions but I love how it turned out!  It reminds me of a little mexican house.  I used a sizzix mover and shaper die for the window frame and a Tim Holtz brick embossing folder for the siding of the house.  The border is a MS punch and the sentiment was embossed on a SB die cut frame. The shingles on the roof were created by a SU scallop border punch and the window flower box is a SB flower pot die that I cut to fit! I mixed some flower soft to match and added it to a dollar store branch to get the dimension I wanted!  The two butterflies were fussy cut out of my Mariposa paper pack to match!

Swing on over to The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge - Things with Wings  and share with me some of your newest creations!  Thanks for stopping by!

Tapping into the Sweet Stuff!

Hi Everyone,

What a sweet day all around!  First I reached my 100th follower which I am very grateful for each and every one of them!  Secondly, my girls went out and tapped some trees in hopes to get some maple syrup for our waffles and so far we have an inch in both buckets!  Here's a picture of this sweet ordeal!

Lastly, I won a challenge over at Delightful Challenges and a guest designer spot!  I am thrilled with the win and a chance to be a guest designer for the site!  It doesn't get any sweeter than that!  Thanks for stopping by and sharing my good news!

Ticket to be Adorable!

Hi Everybody,

A I mentioned earlier, I had lots of fun designing some card bases at home before coming to the cottage and stamped some images to colour while up here and today I have a one of those cards for you! When I saw this paper by First Edition called Blush it reminded me of the nightgowns that my mom used to make for us when we were little so when I came across this little Tilda I had a perfect match.  I have entered her in The Corrosive Challenge Blog - Give Peace a Chance, Paper Sundae's Challenge - Feminine Flair, Crafty Cardmakers - Sketch.

She was stamped on neenah cardstock with memento ink and then coloured with copics.  I used a SB die to mat her on and then cut the bottom to make a ledge to sit her on.  There is a border punch on the blue piece of paper but it didn't show up well in the picture.  Her nightgown has been paper pieced and the ticket has been stamped and then embossed for dimension. I used some sparkly pink ribbon, rhinestones and prima flowers to finish her off!

I grew up with three sisters and a mom who could perform magic with a sewing machine. I remember having many outfits that matched our curtains or our comforter or something else in the house.  My mom wouldn't waste one scrap!  I wish I could find the picture of my little sister and I on the sofa and our outfits match the drape above our head! lol Thanks for taking some time to spend with me today!  I really appreciate it!!

On the Verge!

Hi friends,

As it sits today I am one short of 100 followers and I have promised my girls that we would have a party when I reached 100.  Not sure yet what I'm going to do for our party yet but I can be pretty creative when I need to be so I'll come up with something!  We are still up at the cottage and the mild temperatures are making the snow melt and exposing very slippery ice everywhere.  Todd took a video of the girls bum sliding all the way down our driveway, needless to say they are on their third pair of pants today!  As an adult I have forgotten how to ignore the cold wet pants as I am having fun sliding.  I'm not worried because I still remember how much fun it is to colour and get sticky with glue or I wouldn't be blogging about it today!

Another day away with the family sure makes me grateful for the peace and tranquility that getting away from it all brings! Thanks for stopping in and be sure to join me tomorrow for my newest creation!

Just Chillin!

Hey friends,

Up here at the cottage for March break just chillin out!  I love not having a timetable and just taking whatever comes are way and deal with as it may!  My husband has always been the planner, where I like to 'fly by the seat of my pants.'  I have to say that since having children I now plan more than I ever did before!  So when we get times like these, where anything goes I am reminded of the more carefree times that I enjoyed so much!  I made this card to suit occasions such as this! I have entered it in Crafty Sentiments Designs - Things with Wings.

This little cutie is a Swiss Pixie stamp that I inked up with memento and stamped on neenah cardstock and then coloured with copics.  I used my SB die to mat the image and a Sizzix corner die in the left corner.  The lacey border is a punch by Stampin Up and the I dry embossed the red cardstock with my CB folder.  Lots of red and yellow jewels and some stickles for her wings.  The flowers were put together from different Recollection packs.   I tied it all together with a satin yellow bow!

Can't wait for the days where we're just chillin on the dock under the beaming sun!  Until then I'll take this weather in March any day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Travel Day!

Hello friends,

I had two days to myself to do get some card bases done so I could just colour the images while I'm up at the cottage and it was heaven!  I cleaned the house and nobody was there to move a thing and then I got to create with no distractions.  It was wonderful!  I love my family but every once in a while it's nice to fend only for yourself! ( KWIM )  Now that my cards are ready to be coloured, I packed up and headed to the cottage.  It was great to get there and smell dinner on the BBQ!   My hubby is so thoughtful!!  He prepared dinner so I wouldn't have to cook after driving the 4 hours to get there!  I couldn't think of a better welcome, can you?

That's all for me today, join me tomorrow for my newest creation!  Thanks for taking the time to take a peek!

Unlock your Imagination!

Hi Friends,

One of the greatest things about crafting is that the sky is the limit!  If you can imagine it, you can create it!  There is so much stored up in our imagination that it's time to unlock it and see what we come up with!  I often get in a rut and create several versions of the same card because it's familiar and comfortable.  It's time for me to try to tap into some of that unused potential, will you join me?

The papers are by DCWV called Mariposa. I used a SB die for the door and fussy cut the butterfly and key.  The door has been embossed with a woodgrain folder by Tim Holtz and a brad for the door knob.  Three black gems to finish it off!

That's all for me today, thanks for stopping by!

March Break!

Hi Friends,

As of 3:20pm today the kids are out for their March Break!  We are on our way to the cottage until next Sunday.  We were hoping for some snow, so we could go snowmobiling but it looks like that might not happen as the temperatures are supposed to climb to 15 degrees.  Todd has brought the girls some bow and arrows so it looks like some archery will replace the snow activities this break!  I have brought my markers with me this time but will not be able to create the bases until I get home as it is impossible for me to bring all that I need!  I will post them next week when I can finish them when I get home.

To all of you that now have your children for the week, remember to stay hydrated, stretch and get lots of rest so you can make it through the week enjoying every part of  this workout!  lol  Thanks for stopping by!

Lucky You!

Hello to all my friends,

Now that St Patrick's Day is around the corner, I designed this card keeping to the theme for our Twisted Thursday Challenge this week, which is a recipe of green, brads, glitter and ribbon on your card! I can't wait to see what everyone is going to come up with!  If you would like to join in, you can swing over to Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge. I have entered this card in Delightful Challenges - St. Patty's Theme, Party Time Tuesday - Rags to Riches, Inky Impressions Challenge - Green, Creative Inspirations - Colour Challenge, Dude Time Doodles Challenge - Green, Phindy's Place Challenge Blog - Green, Raise the Bar Challenge - Green

This sweet little Tilda by Magnolia holding a bunch of clovers and the horseshoe is also a Magnolia image.  I stamped them with memento ink on neenah cardstock and coloured them with copics.  The papers are by Best Creations from a couple years back.   I decided that I liked the picture on the paper so I designed a frame around it with my SB Grand Nesties.   After I coloured the images, I cut them out and placed them on the frame.   I embossed the sentiment which is by Close to my Heart and added a ribbon to the frame.   Lots of stickles on the clovers, the bow on her hat and the trim on her socks and dress.  I added some liquid glass on the horseshoe and her shoes to make them shiny.  The last part of the recipe was brads so I used little gold ones in the pot to give the gold dimension.

I hope Tilda brings as much luck to you as she has brought me this week! Thanks for popping in!

For You!

Hello to all my Friends,

There has been many celebrations around here over the past couple of days!  We had our half marathon race, my sister's 50th Birthday, I was asked to be a guest designer for the first time over at the Outlawz Friday Copic Challenge Group and then a fellow blogger awarded me The Liebster Blog Award.  I have been so excited about this new adventure of mine that I want to thank all of you for joining me each day and leaving such lovely comments which have been inspiring me to create more for all of you!  Here's a card I made for all of you! This card is entered in Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog - Birthday Cards, Sara Hurley Challenge Blog - Birthday, Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Punches.

This little cutie is a Magnolia Stamp that I used my memento ink on some neenah cardstock and then coloured with copics.  The papers are by MME called Mabel. I used a SB fancy tag die for the sentiment and some satin ribbon to attach it to the card.  I gave stickles to the trim on her dress, her hair tie, the ribbon on the present and her party hat.  I added liquid glass to her shoes to make them shiny! The cupcake border is by EK Success and I added rhinestones to the cherries on top.   Primas and pearls to finish it off!

Thanks to all of you for giving me so much to celebrate here on my blog!  Have a great day!

Liebster Blog Award!

Hello my friends,

I am so thrilled that a fellow blogger Wendy of Mrs. B's Spot has chosen me to present such a special award to! Thank You so much Wendy, what a lovely surprise, it certainly has made my day! I feel like I just won the Grammy!

"The origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favorite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note."

Without further adieu, here's whatcha' do as a presenter of this award!

1.Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2.Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
3.Copy and paste the blog award on your blog.
4.Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve.
5.Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.

Now it's my turn to pay the award forward to five awesome blogs with less than 200 followers. ALL five fabulous bloggers, in no particular order they are:

Now ladies it is your turn to do your part and share your admiration for five fellow bloggers that have caught your eye!

Thank you so much to all of you who sent your words of encouragement to my sister and I as we ran our half marathon together yesterday! The weather was great and we finished upright and smiling as you can see in this picture!

I am so proud of her and I was very happy to be able to run alongside her for her first half marathon!  Not gonna lie to y'all, I can barely walk today!!  Thanks for taking the time to share some good news with me today!

Happy 50th Big Sister!

Hi Everyone,

Today is the big day!  Coleen and I will be running 21.1 km to the finish line to complete her first half marathon, the day before she turns 50!  I will post how we did tomorrow but today I made this card to commemorate her accomplishment as well as her 50th birthday!  I have entered this card in the Catch the Bug Challenge - Anything Goes, One Crazy Stamper Challenge - Birthday.

This cutie is a Kraftin Kimmie Stamp.  She was stamped with memento ink on Xpress it Blending paper and coloured with copics.  I used SB dies to mat the image and a CB embossing folder to the orange piece that has words of praise on it!  I embossed the sentiment and added two glitter pearls.  I sponged the prima flowers to match the colour.  Lastly I added stickles to the piping on her pants and liquid glass to the water bottle.  Just in case she forgot how old she will be, I put a big 50 to help her remember!

This is how we'll look for the first 5km, I'm sure the finish would be a lot different!  Stop by tomorrow to see the live pictures of the finish!  Take care!

Practice makes Perfect!

Hi Friends,

The day before the race and I am at the table colouring instead of trying to warm up my legs.  You know what they say about priorities, apparently mine are not in order today!  I have been on a huge learning curve when it comes to showing depth and movement when colouring hair.  I have thrown out more than six images before I could keep the one that I will post tomorrow.  I have been watching many tutorials trying to grasp the feathering hair technique with little success.  I suppose more practice is in order to achieve the results I'm looking for, after all  'Practice makes Perfect!'  I'll have to get your feedback tomorrow on how I did.

The preparation before the race has begun!  Drinking lots of water, filling up on carbs and getting our ipods and watches juiced up for tomorrow.  Join me tomorrow for the results of both the race and my feathered hair on my newest card!  Thanks for stopping by!

Total Girl!

Hello to all my friends,

I have to admit that I have chosen comfort over fashion for most of my life, but there is still a part of me that drawn in by the really girlie apparel.  I love the look of it but it screams uncomfortable to me!  I have on occasion bought it anyway, knowing that it suited a purpose or event.  But I have always been impressed with the women out there that can pull off the look flawlessly.  I dress my girls much the same as me, but they love to dress up for church or birthdays in their really fancy clothes.  When I put together this card, the girls have made it their favourite! This card has been entered in Lady Bug Crafts Ink Challenge - Girly Card, Crafty Purple Frog Challenge - Girly and Total Paper Crafts Challenge - Favourites, my favourite things being the colour pink and pearls.

I saw this technique in a book and just had to try it out!  You simple punch out 3 sizes of scalloped ovals and fold them in half and then bring the sides in to meet the middle.  Then you layer them on top of each other and punch one last oval for the top.  I added ricrac ribbon for the detail.  Next time if  I'm going to use this ribbon I'll punch regular ovals instead.  I used some fancy lace ribbon and sponged it a colour to match the paper.  I used a SB die for the matte and my SU border punch along with a CB folder for the embossing.  All beautiful things have to have flowers and pearls to finish the look!  I have entered this card in the Outlawz Greeting Challenge - Pearls and Lace.

Love to look at it, or even see it on my girls.  Would I wear it, probably not!  How about you?  Are you a girlie girl or you in to what's comfortable?  Thanks for sharing a piece of your time with me today, I really appreciate it!

Pre - Race Jitters!

Hi Everyone,

Two more days left until the big race!  I've been watching the weather like a hawk, hoping that Sunday will by the best day ever to be running our half marathon. I had mentioned before that I am running this race with my sister who will be turning fifty the next day.  We are all going out afterwards for a late lunch to celebrate her birthday. I think I'm feeling empathy jitters for my her because I've already did a half  and full marathon, so I know exactly how it feels to be nervous about the big day.  Every race I've been in has went fine, with the exception of the weather, so if you could please in your prayers remember my sister and I on Sunday and pray for safety and sunshine, we would really appreciate it!  I'll be sure to let you know how we made out!

Stop by tomorrow to see my newest creation!  Thanks for popping in!
